The Range is a beautiful new driving range with all of the amenities but, with some very special additions...

The majority of the staff employed at The Range are clients and residents of the BRCCED! Various job responsibilities include: maintenance of the grounds around the clubhouse, tee decks, and putting and chipping greens; picking up balls; serving customers; and stocking the shelves inside the clubhouse.

Stan Smith, BRCCED’s Golf Program Director, comments:

"The mission of the Bob Rumball Canadian Centre of Excellence for the Deaf is to provide care send opportunities in a communication rich environment that enhances the quality of live for those we serve. The Range is exactly that, Here we provide our clients and residents a unique opportunity for employment in various jobs throughout the golf season. Our clients (The Range staff members) involved in this unique working experience are part of a productive team where they are offered job skills, learning and volunteer opportunities and team building skills. Our staff members develop a sense of pride and responsibility for their work, and build their communication and social skills while providing a place which welcomes the greater community.

It is our goal that once The Range staff has gained the employment skills necessary to be successful, this experience will lead to future employment opportunities in the community. The positive impact this initiative has had in the lives of our clients, aka The Range Staff, is truly immeasurable. Any profits generated from the Range are used to augments services and supports offered by the B.R.C.C.E.D. bobrumball.org.
